The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday explained & the Luminox Navy SEAL 3580 Series

In 2018, Luminox introduced the Navy SEAL Chronograph 3580 Series with the launch of five chronograph watches.

Among the five models, one featured the US Navy SEAL (the acronym for SEa, Air and Land) slogan: “The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday” on its dial.

What exactly does it mean? The best way is to ask an actual US Navy SEAL. This is what we did in mid-August 2018, having met up with retired US Navy SEAL Rob Roy on Bintan island, Indonesia at The Canopi resort.

Rob Roy, Chief Petty Officer (Ret.) US Navy SEAL (the acronym for SEa, Air and Land), was in the US Navy for 26 years, of which he served 20 years as a Navy SEAL.

He was part of the famed SEAL Team Six, the elite unit within the US military. Also known as the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group or DEVGRU, SEAL Team Six undertakes special missions that are mostly classified.

Chief Rob Roy was part of the anti-terrorism and interdiction teams that the US government uses in the Global War on Terror (GWOT).

Rob Roy is also an actor, having appeared in movies such as “The Gatekeeper” (2002), “Smart Card” (2005) and “Afghan Knights” (2007). He has also starred in several shows such as “Deadliest Warrior” (Episode 22: Navy SEALs Vs Isreali Commandos), “Rhino Wars” (2013) and “Ultimate Soldier Challenge” (2013).

SOT-G, an 80-hour leadership course, was founded by Rob Roy. Its objective: “… to provode effective and efficient solutions that enable clients to operate safely in challenging territories” including the development of leadership potential.

“The Navy SEAL Art of War” is a book on leadership authored by Rob Roy together with Chris Lawson.

In 2017, Rob Roy became a Luminox ambassador. He is also a Luminox Spec Ops Instructor.

In August 2018, Rob Roy conducted the “Luminox Jungle Survival Course – The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday” in Bintan, Indonesia for Crystal Time, the exclusive Luminox distributor for Singapore, Brunei and Malaysia.
