Condensate traps can become full of gunk and insects, which means you will need to clean it out in the sink by filling it with tap water and shaking it and emptying it many times.
They can also become blocked solid when the dirt inside solidifies in which case you'll need to replace the trap.
After removing the front casing and pulling down the control panel, this video shows how to remove the condensate trap for cleaning or replacement.

This is an Ideal logic combi boiler, but it's the same for heat only and system boilers.
You need to pull off the black rubber tube.
Then twist the condensate trap anti-clockwise and lift it out.
You might need to screw the bottom cap off the trap first from under the boiler (on older Ideal Logics). Make sure to have a bucket under neath to catch the water.
