Question Time: Municipal elections registration, 19 April 2016

Описание: The Independent Electoral Commission has thanked the millions of voters who visited their voting stations over two registration weekends in March and April, to register and update their address details. The Commission says a total of more than 6.6 million voters visited their voting stations over the registration period.
This was almost two and a half times more activity than in the two registration weekends for the 2011 Municipal Elections. Apart from incidents of intimidation and violence in Vuwani in Limpopo's Vhembe District Municipality, registration was declared a success. The IEC has also commended a large turnout by first-time registering voters under 30 years of age.
