adhd friends: how do you manage your adhd?
One of my go-to techniques is habit stacking. Habit stacking involves linking a new habit you want to form with an existing habit you already have.
I realized recently that all the things I’ve started because of adhd that have actually stuck for me are the things where I can do more than one thing at a time. (i.e: skating allowing me to double dip in many ways : exercise, meditation, content creation 😬👉🏾👈🏾)
It’s really hard for me to sit still.
If I’m sitting still for too long, I start to get this impending sense of doom and then my adhd brain checks out. before I know it I’m pulling up bamboo or rearranging the shed.
This has become more of a problem for me recently since I NEED to sit still for editing and studying.
My “Comhar” standing desk has changed the game for me, when adhd starts to get fomo from sitting too long, I’m able to quickly move to standing and walking.
I love moving my body so now I’m able to habit stack while editing and studying which gives me way more dopamine and helps me stay on track.
Lol I’ve learned a lot about tricking myself into doing what I need to do.
Here’s to doubling up and finessing the adhd system.
