This movie is recorded at the symposium on the beauty of classics and charm of Kyoto, which was held at Hardy Hall of Doshisha University, sponsored by the center for the study of creative economy.
Main themes of The Tale of Genji are "love", "jealousy", and "incarnation". One part of The Tale of Genji "Aoinoue" expresses the jealousy and anger of a woman who lost her love and status because of the love of prince to Aoinoue. The interesting point which distinguishes The Tale of Genji from western tale is the description of this world and that world. In the ancient stories, these two world are very close and people recognize the existence of that world easily in the daily life.
