Marty, David, and Brian all happened to be visiting the house at the same time, so we decided to do a video of my song "Pretty Girls."
Oh everyone is singing about the pretty girls
With their eyes so blue and their perfect little curls
We hear of not what's in their heads but of their lips so ruby red*
Oh I'm so sick of hearing about the pretty girls
Oh won't you write me a song
It would mean so much, can't you spare just one
Oh won't you write me a song
It would mean so much, can't you spare just one
I know I'm nothing fancy but there must be something here
To spark your muse, bring a song to your ear
Look past the inches round my waist and the plainness of my face
I know I'm nothing fancy but there must be something here
Oh won't you write me a song
It would mean so much, can't you spare just one
Oh won't you write me a song
It would mean so much, can't you spare just one
Well if your tongue is tied then give me that guitar
I will write myself a ballad as pretty as the stars
A song for every girl overlooked by all the world
Well if your tongue is tied then mister give me that guitar
Oh I'll write myself a song
I'm going downtown, gonna play for everyone
Oh I'll write myself a song
I'm going downtown, gonna play for everyone
*In this video I accidentally sang a different lyric "Their lips so ruby red they got nothin' in their heads." This used to be the line, but I changed it because obviously assuming that attractive women are dumb is a form of sexism, and also shaming women for wanting to look nice is a way of blaming the victim for the patriarchy.
