Описание: *Both are extremely powerful immortals who've been assigned to defend the earth from the forces of darkness by a group of godlike beings (Elder Gods/Valar) by assisting and guiding the side of good to victory
*Both dawn robes and wear a cool wide round hat. They wield a staff and have a wide variety of mystical powers like being able to call lightning. However, they are restricted from using their full godly power and even take upon a mortal appearance/form
*Both act as the wise leading mentors to earth's group of heroes (Defenders of Earthrealm/Fellowship of the Ring) especially forming a close friendship to the chosen one (Liu Kang/Frodo)
*On their adventures both have dealt with an evil blunt weapon wielding ruler (Sauron/Shao Kahn), a betrayer (Sarumon/Shinnok), an army of ugly and violent brutes (Tarkatans/Orcs), and a dark object (Shinnok's Amulet/One Ring)
*Later on, both characters shift their priorities a bit when they gain a stronger different colored form (Dark Raiden is completely ruthless to anyone who gets in his way of protecting Earthrealm and has the power of Shinnok's amulet/Gandalf the White is given the strength of leadership to replace Saruman and his magical prowess expands)
*Both are based off of mythological figures (Gandalf is inspired by Odin/Raiden is inspired by Raijin)
*Both of their “chosen ones” end up falling into darkness (Liu Kang dies and becomes a revenant/Frodo eventually succumbs to the temptations of the Ring)
