The President of Bersatu, Muhyiddin Yassin, alleges that there is a movement within the party collecting signatures to bring him down.
Speaking at the Bersatu Annual General Assembly, Muhyiddin criticized this action, which he deemed contrary to the party’s constitution. He stated that if the president can be ousted through a collection of signatures, then all top leadership can also be toppled in the same manner.
This speech is believed to refer to the internal crisis within Bersatu, including an anonymous letter accusing his deputy, Hamzah Zainuddin, of wanting to overthrow him. Muhyiddin also reminded that unity is the key to the party's survival. He warned that many major parties have collapsed due to division, and Bersatu cannot repeat that mistake.
