All uploads on this channel prior to this have been recordings transferred from cassette tapes. This programme is from a BBC Transcription Disc which is undated.
When I was younger, Semprini Serenade was still a fixture on BBC Radio 2, and I was not a regular listener nor, as far as I'm aware, did I record it off air. However the older I get, the more I appreciate this light, but beautifully performed, music. Semprini was a fine pianist and arranger; rather forgotten these days - undeservedly so.
