3 incredible hikes in Red River Gorge KY - Angel Windows, Chimney Top & Natural Bridge

Описание: I took a road trip down to Red River Gorge, Kentucky in Daniel Boone National Forest for a hiking and backpacking adventure. It was my first time in the Gorge - it was actually ChatGPT that suggested it as a destination. I bought a hiking map of the area, planned a route, and drove down from Michigan.

Since I was unfamiliar with the Red River Gorge area, I spent a couple of days car camping at Natural Bridge State Park so I could get in some day hikes to get to know the area and the terrain before I headed into the woods for 4 days and 3 nights of backpacking.

This is the video from those day hikes. I went to Angel Windows and Chimney Top Rock in the Gorge, which were both short hikes. Angel Windows is a stunning rock formation, and Chimney Top has beautiful views from up high across the trees.

Then it was on to Natural Bridge State Park, where I climbed up the .75 mile walk to see the famed Natural Bridge. The video includes a walk on top of the natural bridge, and taking the long way back which includes Devil's Gulch Staircase. So. Many. Stairs.

These hikes were a good introduction to the gorge - short walks, beautiful views and scenery - getting me prepped for the backpacking trip in Red River Gorge.
