If you`ve been somewhere north you`ll know, the landscape`s raw and beautiful, the weather cold and harsh and the surf when it works is heavy, icy perfection. In the eyes of a UK surfer the North can be a mecca of mirky lefts or days of blown out choppy mess.

UK Surfers Reubyn Ash, Lewis Clinton, Jobe Harriss and Liam Murray Strout were joined by Irelands Ollie O`Flaherty to battle the elements of the North of our precious island. Chasing an ever disappointing looking chart the boys spent the week scouring the coast and hunting for the epic waves of the North.

Having to keep themselves busy by shopping in Thurso`s finest outlets, photographing highland cows and of course winning competitions, it really felt like the ocean just wasn`t going to deliver.

We strongly suggest you watch on to find out how with persistence, a UK surfer can be one of the luckiest out there.
