═══════════ About The Farmer & The Foodie ═══════════
Get to know the food grown by Kentucky farmers and celebrate the Commonwealth’s diverse food traditions with The Farmer & The Foodie.
In Season 5, hosts Maggie Keith (the Farmer) and Lindsey McClave (the Foodie) travel to Western Kentucky to experience fresh mutton and make their own Burgoo; visit UK’s wheat test field and craft whole wheat ravioli; explore the concept of “food as medicine” and learn to grow vegetables at home; visit Newsom’s Country Ham in Princeton, Ky., where they’ve mastered the art of aging country ham; and make a French-inspired croque monsieur; and discover how one innovative Western Kentucky farm raises its own corn and other grains to meet its customer’s needs.
Each episode takes viewers behind the scenes to see firsthand how the food is made before Maggie and Lindsey then take what they’ve learned into the kitchen to create a delicious meal.
Each episode wraps up with Maggie, Lindsey, and the friends they’ve met sitting down and enjoying a meal together — underscoring The Farmer & The Foodie‘s mantra that “good food is meant to be shared.”
Lindsey McClave is a food and wine writer and self-taught home cook with a knack for creating original recipes with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Maggie Keith is the owner and operator of Foxhollow Farm and a passionate advocate for Kentucky farmland.
