Acting Concertmaster Luigi Mazzocchi talks with us about his life in music and shares performances of solo violin from the 20th century featuring Prokofiev, Kreisler, and Piazzolla.
He studied in the renowned Venezuelan musical training program “El Sistema,” as well as at the Latin American Violin Academy with José F. del Castillo. He was first violinist of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, the Lara Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Venezuela. He also plays with Opera Philadelphia and is currently Concertmaster of Pennsylvania Ballet.
