Our flesh was crucified with Jesus (Our substitute) so that God would give everlasting life to our spirit man. The crucifixion of Christ fulfilled the Old Testament requirement for physical circumcision (where the foreskin was cut away). The Old testament circumcision was a foreshadow of Jesus's Crucifixion. Thru Christ our flesh was killed at the cross so that God can give us His life. So to Say it simply, Circumcision is death to your flesh and life to your spirit.
