Laurie Spiegel recalls receiving a phone call from NASA, requesting one of her recordings to be included as part of an interstellar message for extraterrestrials. This led to Laurie's “Kepler's Harmony of the Worlds” being included on the infamous Voyager Golden Record. Laurie also discusses the end of her residency at Bell Labs, as the storied institution turned away from pure research and long-term-thinking to focus on purely commercial applications.
