How To Use a Lattice Cutter and 2 other Accessories For Making Apple Pie

In the summer and fall, when we have apples from our trees, we make apple pie filling to can and whole apple pies to freeze. Making apple pies in bulk saves us a ton of time in the fall when we need a treat to take to Thanksgiving & Christmas get-togethers. Pies can be a little overwhelming, but these three accessories make the process more efficient.

#1 - Apple Peeler - This apple peeler peels, cores, and slices the apples. It is so quick. We can cut up enough apples for 3 pies in minutes. You can purchase one for less than $20 on Amazon!

#2 - Pastry Cloth - A pastry cloth makes rolling out the pie crust and cleaning up a breeze. Simply sprinkle a little flour on the cloth, place your dough, and roll it out. The flour goes into the cloth instead of your crust, which keeps your crust light. The crust will rarely stick to the pastry cloth, which saves time and energy. When you are done, simple shake off the excess flour outside, fold up the cloth, and keep it in your freezer for your next baking party. I use my pastry cloth regularly for rolling out cinnamon rolls & pizza crusts. #3 - Lattice Cutter - This is definitely not a necessity, but I do love how the lattice looks on a homemade pie. A lattice cutter makes it so simple!
