Although it is only 1 - 2 km away from the largest town of Murter, Betina is administratively belonging to the municipality of Tisno. About 800 permanent residents live in Betina, traditionally engaged in agriculture (growing of olives and figs) and fishing. The settlement is also well-known for its shipbuilders who have a long tradition of building wooden boats.
