Richard Flood is Chief Curator of the New Museum. His talk is entitled Tearing Down the House – Notes on Contemporary Curating.
Flood is a defining force in the contemporary art world. To inaugurate the New Museum’s SANAA-designed building in 2007, Flood initiated ‘Unmonumental,’ an exhibition that The New York Times described as “a gauntlet thrown down to other New York museums.” In his previous roles as Deputy Director and Chief Curator at the Walker Art Center, Flood’s curatorial projects included Brilliant: New Art from London and Zero to Infinity: Arte Povera 1962–1972. Former positions include curator at PS1 Contemporary Art Center, New York, and Director of Barbara Gladstone Gallery.
