Misnamed the "Phrygian" Mode in the Middle Ages, the original ancient Greek Dorian Mode had the equivalent intervals as E-E on the white notes of the piano. When played slowly, the ancient Greek Dorian has this introspective sounding mode has unique effect of increasing the feeling of concentration in the listener - this effect is further enhanced by the purity of just intonation.
