Opinel Picnic+ compatibility issues and surprises

Originally intended for only regular model No. 08 folding knives from 2000 onwards, unfortunately there is an issue that prevents me and some other buyers from using this extension with our knives. This is either from the wood expanding (natural causes), or a quality control issue that may or may not have been present before these inserts even hit the factory.
While I was not able to see why that is exactly, I did find out in the process that other Opinel models are, in fact, perfectly compatible with the Picnic+ as it was designed by Franck Fontana. Those models are the No. 10 Filet/Slim Line as well as the No 12. Filet/ Slim Line and the No. 09 Oyster & Shellfish. The No. 08 Garden can be forced, but is an extremely tight fit on mine and since other people reported the same, I will advice against it, fearing a stress fracture.
The regular No. 06, 07, 09, 11, 12, the No. 06 Folding Peeler, the No. 12 Saw, the No. 07 My First Opinel, the No. 07 Garlic & Pitting, the No. 08 Mushroom, the No. 08 Grafting-Billhook and the No. 10 Billhook are not compatible!
