1st & Foremost Thank You Guy's For All The Wonderful Yrs Of Performance & Music & R.I.P Mr John Lodge John Charles Lodge July 20 1943 – Oct 10 2025 An English musician bass guitarist co-lead vocal & songwriter for longstanding progressive rock band the Moody Blues. Joining the group in 1966, he contributed to many of the Moody Blues' most acclaimed works, including Ride My See-Saw, Isn't Life Strange, & I'm Just a Singer In a Rock and Roll Band, helping shape the band's signature symphonic rock sound.
Beyond his work w Moody Blues, Lodge collaborated w fellow bandmate Justin Hayward on the Blue Jays project in 1974–75, & release solo albums such as Natural Avenue 1977 & 10,000 Light Years Ago 2015. Also worked as record producer & remain active in tours & recording thruout his life. 2018 Lodge was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues.

The Moody Blues Is an English rock band formed in Birmingham in May 1964. The band initially consisted of Graeme Edge drums, Denny Laine guitar/vocals, Mike Pinder keyboards/vocals, Ray Thomas multi-instrumentalist/vocals & Clint Warwick bass/vocals. Originally part of the British beat & R&B scene of Early mid 1960s, Band came to prominence w UK #1 & US Top 10 single Go Now in late 1964 early 1965. Laine & Warwick both left band in 1966, w Edge, Pinder & Thomas recruiting new members Justin Hayward guitar/vocals & John Lodge bass/vocals. They embrace the psychedelic rock movement of late 1960s, w 2nd album, Days of Future Passed 1967, a fusion of rock w classical music perform London Festival Orchestra Established them as pioneers in development of art rock & progressive rock. Described as a Landmark & one of the 1st successful concept albums.
The group released 6 more albums In Search of the Lost Chord 1968, On the Threshold of a Dream 1969, To Our Children's Children's Children 1969, A Question of Balance 1970, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour 1971 & Seventh Sojourn 1972 .Touring extensively until they went on hiatus in 1974. Their records from this period were among the most successful in the progressive rock genre w FM radio hits such as Nights in White Satin 1967 charting again in 1972, & 1979 Tuesday Afternoon 1968, Question 1970, The Story in Your Eyes 1971, Isn't Life Strange 1972 & I'm Just a Singer In a Rock & Roll Band 1973. Resuming activities in 1977, Pinder left following yr & replace by former Yes keyboardist Patrick Moraz. In 1980s they took on a more synth-pop sound having hits w Gemini Dream 1981, The Voice 1981, Your Wildest Dreams 1986 & I Know You're Out There Somewhere 1988. Your Wildest Dreams made the Moody Blues the 1st act to earn each of its 1st three Top 10 singles in U S in 3 different decades. Moraz departed in 1991, followed by Thomas in 2002. Tho the band stopped releasing albums after December 2003 they continued to tour throughout the 2000s & later reunited periodically for events, one-off concerts, short tours & cruises, until Graeme Edge, the last remaining original member, retired in 2018.
The Moody Blues sold 70 million albums worldwide, including 18 platinum & gold LPs. Producing 16 studio albums, 6 of which made US Top 20 w 2 reaching #1 & 8 making UK Top 20 w 3 reaching #1) They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
