The fivefold ministries is a term we get from Ephesians chapter four, where the apostle Paul is talking about all the gifts that God gives to the church. One of the gifts are these five offices. The first one is the apostle. These are people who are church planters, they're visionaries, they're many times overseeing multiple churches. The second office are the prophets. These are people who hear from God. They bring messages, many times they bring conviction or corrections to the church. Sometimes they deal with the future. And then the third office would be the evangelists. These are people who have a heart for the loss. They are filling rows in the church with their lost loved ones. They are sharing the gospel with people. The fourth office are the pastors. These are people who care for the church, they're guiding the church. And then fifthly are the teachers. People who are skilled in the word of God. They study the Bible, but then can explain it so that people can understand. These are the fivefold ministries of the church.
