• Let go of baggage. You are the new background for yourself. Don’t go into marriage without dealing with your past.
• Pay attention to your associations. You are a product of the people around you. Be mindful of your conversations and nurture the covenant relationships God has placed in your life.

How to Steward Your Relationship Life:
• Pay attention to patterns. There are things your partner does that you must note. If he is angry while you are in a relationship, that is a pattern. Longevity does not matter; if it is not aligned, step out. Do not use sentiments to derail your destiny.
• Check that your partner fears the Lord—not just someone who goes to church, but someone who hears God. Ask about their consecrations.
• Make sure they are teachable and willing to listen.
(Ephesians 5:22 MSG) — To wives, your husband is Lord.

They also indicate that you need wisdom to direct you in your home. Even if you are prophetic or gifted, wisdom teaches you how to go about it. Submission is not weakness; it is order.
As couples, build a culture of feedback and openness. Create time for personal couple retreats where you talk, share, and realign with each other.

In Dealing with In-Laws:
• Know that your in-laws are not after your life. Don’t enter marriage with that mindset. Genuinely love them.
• Be spiritually alert. Every family has patterns, so guard your spiritual life and discern the atmosphere you are marrying into.
• Create healthy boundaries. Let your parents know that you are now married.
• Do not discuss marital issues with family; they will always take sides and see you through their own lens.

Pastor Tope and Mrs. Jumoke wrap up the message by reminding us that relationships and marriages thrive on wisdom, not emotion; therefore, you must build with understanding, stay grounded in the Word, and let love be your foundation.
