Aroma Compound is a densely populated informal settlement located in Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila. It was established in 1995 as part of the Vitas Temporary Housing project, designed to relocate families displaced by the closure of the Smokey Mountain landfill. The area comprises numerous two-story warehouse-type buildings, which were intended as temporary shelters but have become long-term residences due to the lack of viable relocation alternatives.

The community is known for its challenging living conditions, including inadequate sanitation, limited access to clean water, and poor infrastructure. Many residents rely on informal livelihoods such as scavenging, vending, and small-scale services. The name "Aroma" is often associated with the area's distinct odor, a result of its proximity to waste disposal sites and the Manila North Harbour.

In September 2024, a massive fire devastated the Aroma Compound, displacing approximately 2,000 families. The disaster prompted residents to appeal to the Manila city government to declare the area a permanent housing site, fearing potential eviction due to ongoing urban development projects.

Community organizations, such as the Tondo Community Initiative, are actively working to support residents through child protection programs, welfare services, and advocacy for improved living conditions.
