What is a Sentence? explained in Sindhi
A sentence is a group of words that follow three main rules:
It makes sense: It expresses a complete thought.
It has two parts: It must have a Subject (who or what the sentence is about) and a Verb (the action).
It has a specific purpose: Different sentences do different jobs, like asking questions or stating facts.
The 4 Types of Sentences
Sentences are divided into four types based on what they do.
1. Declarative Sentence (A Statement)
These sentences simply share information or state a fact.
Punctuation: Ends with a period (.)
Example: The sky is blue.
2. Interrogative Sentence (A Question)
These sentences ask for information.
Punctuation: Ends with a question mark (?)
Example: What time is it?
3. Imperative Sentence (A Command)
These sentences tell someone to do something or make a polite request.
Punctuation: Ends with a period (.) or an exclamation mark (!) if said forcefully.
Example: Please close the door. / Stop that!
4. Exclamatory Sentence (An Emotion)
These sentences show strong feelings like excitement, anger, or surprise.
Punctuation: Ends with an exclamation mark (!)
