After he healed himself with spring water, he started to think of a treatment method using this natural remedy.
In 1822, he founded the Jeseník Spa.
Hydrotherapy has developed here as a primary method of treatment. It is successfully practiced here up to these days.
In 1846, Priessnitz was awarded the Imperial Grand Golden Medal of the First Class.
