In March 2021, the Food Studies Program at The New School and co-sponsors from several academic institutions and community-based organizations organized “Facing the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit,” an online event to provide an overview of the complex process and politics of the Summit, to be held in New York City in late 2021.
This event on April 28th builds upon the March event. Speakers from local New York City to national levels will discuss established and possible intersections between food systems policy and governance from city and regional to global scales.
Following the opening panel, this event will provide participants an opportunity for (online) participatory discussion about these themes, and local and regional action related to food policy and the UNFSS. All are welcome.

• Dr. Molly Anderson, Middlebury College
The discussions will be moderated by Thomas Forster and Kristin Reynolds, lecturers in the Food Studies and Environmental Studies programs at The New School.
