According to the cadre allocation guidelines, the Department of Personnel and Training assigned her to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. She challenged the decision through legal channels, including the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and the High Court, in an effort to secure a Telangana cadre posting. However, court proceedings ultimately required her to report to Andhra Pradesh.
