🌎 Find out how to reduce toxins in food and water that drive inflammation in your body and brain. Ultra processed foods and artificial additives are certainly a common cause of toxic exposure, but do you know which toxic food often thought of as a health food can can cause fatigue, insomnia, depression, anxiety, and even infertility and rapid hair loss in some individuals?
Levels of toxins in food are also impacted by how you cook your food, since toxins are also formed in the cooking process and these will cause rapid ageing of not just your skin but your internal tissues, increasing inflammation and impacting the risk of health outcomes such as heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and even cataracts.
If you have a private water supply, such as from a borehole, toxins in water are actually more likely to be driving inflammation in your body since groundwater can be high in industrial compounds, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, endocrine disrupting chemicals, nanoparticles and flame retardants
Many toxins in groundwater can make it into municipal tap water and there are few effective options for ensuring your water supply is low in contaminants.
The oceans have become ever more toxic and the toxins in food that may have enabled the evolution of the human brain - fish and seafood and especially fatty fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids - have been increasing in recent years. Should you eat fish and seafood for their cardiovascular benefits or should you consider it a toxic food? Which fish are safer to eat and which should you avoid?
The answers in this video are nuanced, but could serve as an initial guideline for you to begin to reduce your intake of toxic foods and contaminated water.
In this video you will learn about some of the toxins in food and water, which water is safest to drink, how to reduce your toxic burden from food and water and how to cook your foods to reduce inflammation and the formation of toxic compounds that age you and that drive inflammation in your body. There are many artificial additives in ultra processed foods so this video offers a general guideline for additives, and insights into the toxicity of one common additive and with the understanding that ultra processed foods are highly pro-inflammatory for many reasons besides their toxic additives.
