Making Bacon (Mak'in or Maken!) - Making homemade bacon
This video was inspired by another making bacon video by Joshua Weissman:

How to make a batch of dry cure:
400g kosher salt
200g sugar
-60g pink curing salt (NOT himalayan pink salt. )
Curing the Belly:
We did 3 varieties:
1) Maple Bacon
1000g (approx 2lbs)
0.025*1000=25g of curing mix (from above)
1/8 cup maple
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2) Herb Bacon
1200g (just over 2lbs)
0.025*1200=30g of curing mix (from above)
Sprigs of rosemary and sage
Some garlic
3) Regular Bacon
1000g (about 2lbs)
0.025*1000=25g of curing mix (from above)
Put in ziplock bags and let it cure for 7 days turning over daily.
Results:
The family say they will never have store-bought bacon again!
