A multi day trek in the Klosterdalen Valley off the Tasermiut Fjord offers a wilderness trekking experience to remember. The terrain is not to be taken lightly, comprised of deep bog, boulder fields and dense areas of dwarf birch and willow. There are also river crossings to negotiate. Worse of all, however, are the millions of mosquitoes and midges from which there is no reprieve, making DEET and a head net essential! But the reward is some of the most majestic and breath taking scenery on the planet, as the blue waters of the Tasermiut Fjord with the inland ice cap towering at its end, greets a series of lofty granite mountains including the iconic Ketil with its vertical wall which attracts rock climbers.
