Elvis Auction / London / August 30 / ENT 2
You too can own one of the King's best loved jumpsuits
Since his death twenty years ago, the market in Elvis Presley memorabilia has become big business. The latest auction which took place on Saturday (30/08) at Bonhams in London, included the famous peacock suit - expected to fetch up to 120,00 pounds (sterling, 192,000 US dollars). Other items included the uniform Elvis wore while
serving in the army in the late 1950s is also on offer. All the items belong to Paul Lichter who first met Elvis in the late 60s. Lichter's collection ranges from guns to guitars. But he decided to sell off some of the items on the 20th anniversary of the
King's death. This latest auction breaks new ground in that it was held simultaneously in London and at the Hard Rock Cafe in Berlin - the two sites connected by a satellite link.
