One of the very first places I wanted to visit when I came to live in Bangkok, Thailand was the famous plant market in the north of the city. Chatuchak (pronounced JATUJAK) Plant Market, which is South East Asia's largest plant market has everything from cacti, succulents, orchids, bromeliad, hoyas, dischidia, aglaonema, dieffenbachia, dracaena, begonia, calathea, various ferns, caladiums colocasia, adenium, plumeria in a wide variety of colours and sansevieria. an endless market of indoor and outdoor plants.
I visited the Chatuchak Plant Market on the Tuesday morning around 11am and it was a hive of activity with buyers, sellers and people just having a wander around the plant stalls.
This is part 1 of a 3 part episode covering the entire Chatuchak Plant market in Bangkok (filmed in September 2024). This is probably the most important plant market in Thailand (and probably the most vibrant and complete in the world).
