If you would like to have a pet in Germany, there are of course important laws and rules to be aware of and some interesting and good to know facts. Among particularly German ones can be named: "dog license" - so called "Hundeführerschein" and pets health insurance, also a vending machine for dogs is something I have never seen in my country.
The related laws and procedures are:
Immigration law for pets if you want to bring your animal with you to Germany
Adopting a pet from an animal shelter
Having a pet in a rented apartment
