EP5。

EP5. The "Kung Fu Inheritance - Hong Kong" series carries a deep affection for my father. He taught me kung fu from a young age. Therefore, for me, kung fu is more than just a martial arts tradition; it embodies a deep bond with my family.
The blood connection between father and son, coupled with the inheritance of kung fu, creates a deep bond with my father that is simple yet rich, as if every punch and kick bears the shadow of my father.
My father often said, "Horse stance is the foundation." He also explained that when his Sifu(teacher) taught kung fu, beginners must practice horse stance for at least ninety days (three months) to lay a solid foundation. This is true for kung fu, and it is also true for life. Learning kung fu is learning how to be a human being.
By filming myself teaching kung fu to my apprentices, I am passing on kung fu to the next generation. Our kung fu style is called “Kwong Sai Bamboo Forest Temple Praying Mantis”, a traditional Hakka kung fu. My father’s Sifu(teacher) was Wong Yuk Kong, and my father studied with him from childhood until his death.
Wong Yuk-kwong was a master of our kung fu style and was well-known in the Hong Kong martial arts community.
Beyond expressing my deep affection for my family's kung fu, I also hope that this series can make a small contribution to the martial arts community.
