The Gobi 'Crossing' 2011 Expedition was a non-stop trek across the fifth largest desert in the world and Asia's largest. The 12 strong international team was led by adventurer Ripley Davenport, and a professional photographer, who started their 1,100 mile trek across the Mongolian Gobi Desert from Bulgan a sum district of Khovd Province in the west, to Sainshand the capital city in Dornogovi province in the east, passing
to the North of the Khongoryn Els, the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia. They were assisted by 12 Bactrian Camels and a Mongolian/Khazak support crew.
