What is a Two Way Mirror?

Описание: A two way mirror, also known as one way mirror or half silvered mirror, is a type of transparent mirror. It creates an illusion of a standard mirror on one side, but on the other side it is see-through!

A glass two way mirror, also known as a one way mirror. It has a semi-transparent mirror coating that is traditionally made for privacy. It is made on a grey glass substrate and the mirror coating is baked on during the manufacturing process.

To increase privacy even more so with this mirror, you can apply dark tinted film to the back side when both sides of the room are bright (or the same).

For the two way effect to work, the light ratio needs to be at least 1:2, and optimally 1:6 so it is no longer see-through. If the lighting is the same on both sides, it will not be 100% private.

You can achieve this dark effect by turning the lights off on the "observation side", or paint the back of it black.

The Glass Two Way Mirror is unique. It can ONLY be installed with the mirror coating facing the subject/viewer.

If you try to turn the mirror around so the mirror coating is facing the dark side, it will not work!

This is not the case with Acrylic Two Way Mirrors or the Glass Smart Mirror (military grade two way). These two CAN be installed in either direction.
