Giving a unique insight into the lives of some of the country's best submariners, this series spends 12 months charting the ups and downs of HMS Superb - a nuclear-powered submarine that can remain undetected underwater for months on end.

HMS Superb is about to go back to sea for the first time for three and a half years and the final frantic preparations are made. It's a time of mixed emotions, there's great excitement that at last she's about to sail, but also sadness that the last goodbyes have been said at home and loved ones face the long separation.
