Did you know that your search results including visual imagery get 40% more click throughs than text only search results. Hi! I'm Sharon Newey from Super Fast Recruitment with a recruitment marketing update.
So why are you and I more inclined to click through a link on the listings that has a video or an image. Well, it's quite simple. People love images. They love video. We find it appealing and engaging and that includes the most senior executives and business owners. A piece of research reasonably suggested that 75% of senior executives watch work related videos on business related websites at least once a week.
But so what? What does that mean to you as a recruitment business owner? Now here's the thing-- Imagine that that senior executive could be a potential client and they need candidates to fill vacancies and it could be that senior executive you've been looking for for the last few weeks for your key client and their vacant position.
Now, let me share one other little fact with you. If on your homepage of your website you have video, it will be 53% more likely to be found on the first page of Google. Now I can think of many business owners that wouldn't want to have their website on the first page of Google or higher up on that first page of Google.
Now again, why is it though that we love all of these visuals or imagery stuff going on. Well, let's just head over to more scientific facts and figures for you. If you think about the general population, 40% of us love visual imagery. We find it easier to absorb information to process it and we can do it really quickly. Now, there's a low percentage -- maybe about 16% of people, we love listening to things. Which is why there is a growing trend for people listening to podcasts on our iTunes on our iPhones and stuff.
Now, you combine visual and audio together in video and it's a really powerful medium and certainly a medium that is growing and is going to continue to grow into 2014.
So what's the take away message there from today's video? It's visuals - Use visuals in your communication, on your websites, in your blog posts and if you can use some video built in to your aspects of marketing.
