“Unable to extend the landing gear”. American A319 diverts to San Francisco. Real ATC

Описание: THIS VIDEO IS A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING SITUATION IN FLIGHT:

15-JAN-2026. An American Airlines Airbus A319 (A319), registration N816AW, performing flight AAL1866 / AA1866 from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, AZ (USA) to Monterey Regional Airport, CA (USA) was on final approach at Monterey when the flight crew went around, reported an aircraft problem and entered a hold to troubleshot the issue. Later the pilots declared PAN-PAN, reported that they were unable to extend the landing gear and requested to divert to San Francisco International Airport, CA (USA). On the way to SFO the flight crew was able to extend the landing gear manually. Subsequently, they requested a tug to be towed off the runway after landing as they didn’t have a nose wheel steering. After landing the airplane stopped on runway 28 right and about 25 minutes later was towed off the runway.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.
