When loaded hydrostatic pressure pushes the gel throughout the joint producing a fine lubricating film. In areas of damaged cartilage NoltrexVet gel forms a protective and lubricating layer. An experimental study at Cornell University has demonstrated that NoltrexVet reduces friction as shown here by the blue bar. Over the course of several weeks NoltrexVet gel is broken down into smaller pieces within the joint.
