King Abdullah Economic Port has achieved yet another milestone, ranking second among the world’s most efficient container ports, according to the Container Port Performance Index (CCPI) of 2020. This is a major achievement since the CCPI report, published by the World Bank and IHS Market, uses a first of its kind scoring system, scoring global ports against multiple metrics of performance, the most critical of which is total port hours per ship call.

King Abdullah Port has long been lauded for its efficient operations, quality of infrastructure, and streamlined customs processes. The port also serves a key role in establishing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a global trade, transport, and logistics hub by facilitating speedy and efficient movement of goods between KSA and its international trading partners. The key success of King Abdullah can be attributed to its unique public-private partnership model where over 17 government agencies work with the private sector to manage port operations.
