WATTS - Daude Sherrills was a major player during the 1992 Watts Peace Treaty Gang Truce. The path to the 1992 truce actually started in 1988 but it wasn't until 1992 that they were able to get representatives from all sections of Watts to be on board which included Daude Sherrills, Tony Bogard, Twilight Bey, Dewayne Holmes who met at the Masjid Al Rasool in Watts on Central Avenue. Mujahid Abdul Karim from out the Nickerson Gardens help facilitate the April dialogue.

The murder of Henry Peco by the LAPD in 1991and the murder of Rollin 60s leader Keith Stone in 1992 inspired continued peace talks that led to the truce in April of 1992.
