In this video we review a downswing drill that helps you to bring the club down along an inside swing path and on a shallower plane. While the drill exaggerates the movement quite a bit it is useful to protect against an over the top swing error.
At address, slide your right hand down the grip until it is one hand length removed from the grip, on the metal (or graphite) of the shaft. Perform a mock backswing and as you transition into your downswing pull your right elbow down towards the right pocket of your pants to initiate the downswing. This action will bring your club inside from which point your swing path will be very much of the inside-out variety, instead of the outside-in.
Perform this golf drill at home to train your body to swing more from the inside, to shallow the club and to produce better golf shots.
