Join our intrepid garden gurus as they explore the seasonal offerings on Terry's mountainside allotment. Terry is delighted by the progress of his chrysanthemums but meets disappointment in the form of an empty space where his hoped-for aubergines once lived!

The allotment, it seems, has been faring rather well in the unusually mild climate, giving Terry and Richard plenty to talk about. Topics are very varied this month, ranging from facts about aphids and setting up the greenhouse to melons and berries for birds. There's even advice on how and why to eat your sprout tops (especially useful if, like Richard's, the sprouts themselves have failed!).

We are also furnished with the satisfied murmurings of approval for Anthea's pumpkin soup, made using the last of the autumn pumpkin crop and some sprigs of parsley kindly lent by the next door neighbour!
