Описание: Gender-Based Violence has left a deep and lasting mark on South Africa — not only on victims and survivors but on families, communities and entire environments shaped by fear, loss and silence. Its impact lives in the everyday ways we move through the world, whether we carry the trauma directly or inherit it through proximity.

This contemporary dance film was directed and choreographed by TDO THANDO (@tdo.thando_) as an act of honour, reflection and confrontation. It stands with the victims, the survivors, and all those whose lives have been altered by GBV — including those impacted through association, upbringing or environment.

This project marks the first release under AXIS, a developing dance ecosystem by TDO THANDO (@tdo.thando_) dedicated to movement with intention. AXIS will house future dance films, creative projects, classes, workshops and events that use the body as a site of truth, dialogue and collective reflection.

Creating this work required emotional honesty and care. The beautiful cast approached the process with deep respect, vulnerability and integrity, cultivating a safe and conscious working space that allowed the subject matter to be held with the weight it deserves. Their contributions are deeply woven into every moment of this piece.
