Route 257's BRAND NEW ELECTROLINERS | TfL London Bus Changes EXPLAINED | Replacing Enviro400s

Описание: Brand new Wright StreetDeck Electroliner EVs have entered service on route 257. These electric buses are the new allocation of the route. And have replaced diesel ADL Enviro400s from 2012. The first Electroliner on route 257 entered service on the 10th of March. The route converted to a full allocation of electrics on the 15th of March.

The 257's diesel ADL Enviro400s have now transferred to Ash Grove (HK) garage. They are now being used on routes D6 and D7.

Route 257 runs from Walthamstow Central Bus Station, To Stratford Bus Station. The route runs via Grove Road, Bakers Arms, Lea Bridge Road, Leyton Green Road, Whipps Cross Bus Stand, Whipps Cross Hospital, Leyton Way, Green Man Roundabout, Leytonstone Station (towards Stratford only), Harvey Road, Leytonstone High Road Station, Harrow Green, Chobham Road, Maryland Station and Salway Place.

Route 257 runs every 7 to 12 minutes. The route runs daily, from 04:30 until 01:30. Route 257 is 5 miles (8 km) long. A full journey on the route takes 30 to 45 minutes.

Route 257 is run from Stagecoach's Leyton (T) garage. The route has a peak vehicle requirement of 16 buses.

Route 257 commenced operation in November 1988. The route replaced part of route 262 between Stratford and Walthamstow. On Sundays, the route was extended to Chingford Mount. This section was withdrawn in 1992.

Route 257 has been run by East London between 1988 and 1992. Capital Citybus between 1992 and 1998. First London between 1998 and 2005. Stagecoach East London between 2005 and 2015. And Go-Ahead London between 2012 and 2017. The 257 passed back to Stagecoach in 2017.

Route 257 connects to the Victoria line at Walthamstow Central, The London Overground Weaver line at Walthamstow Central, The London Underground Central line at Leytonstone, The London Overground Suffragette line at Leytonstone High Road, The Elizabeth line at Maryland, The London Underground Central and Jubilee lines at Stratford, The Docklands Light Railway, Elizabeth line, London Overground Mildmay line at Stratford, And National Rail (c2c and Greater Anglia) at Stratford.
