Despite this, the stilt house remains a popular choice for many Filipinos, especially in areas prone to flooding. Modern stilt houses are often constructed with more durable materials such as concrete and steel, and can be customized to meet the specific needs and preferences of homeowners. In addition to protecting against flooding, stilt houses also offer other benefits such as improved ventilation, increased privacy, and a greater sense of connection to the natural environment.

In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in traditional Philippine architecture, including the stilt house.
