How the inventory corruption glitch seems to work is that when it fails to save, your inventory gets offset by a set amount, successfully saving fixes it and reverts the offset, however items gained after the offset happens will also be offset backwards
Table Salt is the offset item to Diamonds, so getting Table Salt after the offset will turn them into Diamonds
The glitch can be forced by making it so the game can't write to the save folder, such as by making it read only or changing permissions
