I was 8 and I found the meaning of life for myself - buy a gaming PC.
Powerful, beautiful, to play all games maxing out.
I spent the whole evening choosing options online and found exactly what I needed ... for one thousand five hundred dollars.

For a long time, I went on and on about how it is important for me and how my life will change for the better and that I will become the coolest guy in school.

My father sat me down and told me to write down all my income.
But at first, I’m like, “Pff... Dad, I'm 8 years old, what income?”

So I wrote out all the sources of income and the next month I was writing everything down in a notebook and putting the money in the jar. I saved about sixteen dollars.

I never bought a gaming PC. But I learned two vital lessons for myself:
There are different sources of income. Including teenagers. Gifts from parents and relatives, pocket money is a source of income.
It is necessary to record all cash transactions, income and expenses. Then there is a sense of control over the situation.
